Zirmed was building its new tower and needed two new passenger elevators and one service elevator.
Our Solution
For the regular passenger elevators, we installed two 12-stop geared traction elevators that travel 450 fpm. Each one is rated at up to 2,500 pounds capacity. The service elevator was special, though. Since it had to be used for both a passenger elevator and to haul freight up and down, we installed a 12-stop service elevator with wide cab doors and 10-foot high ceiling to accommodate taller payloads, such as furniture. This elevator can travel at 350 fpm and is rated to hold up to 8,000 pounds. Despite its heavy-duty intent, this elevator is still able to provide comfortable, everyday service to regular passengers.
This build was in new construction and took 10 months to complete back in 2009. Zirmed is now a maintenance customer.
